Info: Linuxaayana is a archive of technical articles illustrating the usage of FOSS and more in Kannada. If you’re unable to read content here on our website please find more help here:
1. This confirms that you don’t have a “Kannada” font installed on your machine
2. You’re not on a browser or Operating System which Unicode compatible
Here is how you can easily sort this issue:
1. Install any kannada font from here.
a) If you’re on windows, download the font file and copy it to Fonts folder under windows directory
b) If you’re on Linux, copy it to .fonts folder in your home directory (there is a period before .fonts, please observe) and run fc-cache -fv in your terminal
PS: If you don’t have .fonts folder in your home directory, don’t hesitate to create one.
2. Restart the machine/browser that should do to start reading the content on Linuxaayana.net easily
Other solutions:
Installing Kannada Fonts on Gnu/Linux
sudo apt-get install ttf-kannada-fonts
Installing Kannada Fonts on CentOS/Fedora
yum install ttf-kannada-fonts
There are other ways as well. I haven’t mentioned many due to time constraints. Please drop me a mail if you can contribute to this Help page.
